Call for Travel Grant Applications

We are pleased to announce the availability of IPPS travel grants to support students and early-career researchers participating in the 18th World Congress on Parasitic Plants, taking place May 31 – June 6, 2026, in São Sebastião, Brazil.

Grants of €1,000 will be awarded to eligible MSc students, PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers. Priority will be given to applicants from low- and middle-income countries, as defined by the OECD.


Grant Objectives

IPPS travel grants aim to foster international mobility and scientific exchange by supporting early-career researchers in presenting their work and engaging with the global parasitic plant research community.


Application Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a student or early-career researcher (MSc, PhD, or Post-doc).
  • Submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation.
  • Actively participate in the congress and agree to write a synopsis of one of the days of the scientific programme, for the IPPS community.


Application Documents

Applications must include the following (each max. one page):

  1. A short CV.
  2. A letter of recommendation from your academic supervisor.
  3. An abstract prepared using the template available on the congress website.


Submission Procedure

  1. Register for the congress via the official WCPP2026 website*.
  2. Prepare your abstract using the template found on the Abstract Submission page (accessible after registration).
  3. Email your complete application package (CV, recommendation letter, and abstract) to secretary@parasiticplants.org.


Important Dates

  • Application Deadline: April 10, 2026
  • Result Announcement: By April 15, 2026
  • Congress Dates: May 31 – June 6, 2026


* Note: Applicants may postpone their registration fee payment until grant results are announced.

Applications will be evaluated by the IPPS Executive Committee. Successful applicants will be notified via email.
